We explore a variety of tastes in a mostly fermented dinner together and begin a batch of fermentation for class members to finish at home. Look forward to kombucha tea, yogurt, vegetable ferments and more in this eye-opening class.

Water Bath Basics
Find out how easy canning food can be! This class makes an in-season product. All the ingredients, necessary equipment and jars are provided by the Cannery. We use safe canning recipes during a hands-on lesson. Each participant leaves with knowledge of the canning process and a jar of product. Learn how to can food in our kitchen so you can repeat the process at home!
Pressure Canning
This class is for first time pressure canning cooks who want to overcome fear of the “bomb” in the kitchen. Join us in canning meat, soups and vegetables while learning principles of pressure cooking. We will provide all you need to learn how to pressure cook safely and send you home with a jar for your pantry.
We CAN! Jam
Bring your friends and learn how to make fresh jam. The Cannery provides all the ingredients and fresh-made bread and samples; you bring your friends. We will learn to make and preserve jam and enjoy taste testing with refreshments.
Boozy Jams
Fresh jam with a twist! Join us to learn to make jam of your favorite cocktails, beer and wine. Learn to can your jam for a unique gift for yourself or a loved one all year round. Your morning toast will never be the same.

Client provides fresh produce
This class is determined by the needs of the client. Use one or more recipes for putting up in season vegetables of the clients’ choice. Canning salsa is a favorite! Canning pickles is also very popular. Plan to schedule at least a week in advance to reserve time in the cannery for you and your friends.
We CAN! Juice-Tomato, Vegetable, Fruit
Fresh fruit and vegetable juices taste like summer no matter when they are served.
How about trying canning tomatoes for juice, grapes, blackberries or peaches? They taste even better when they are home cooked without the extra non-essential ingredients many packaged juices include.
We CAN! Mustard and Chutney
Learn to make delicious mustards and chutneys to dress up your table any time of the year Discuss recipe building for chutney, and create several flavors during class. The class will have the opportunity to taste their chutneys and mustards with a charcuterie tray. Recipes included.

Buying a class is much like buying a concert ticket; if you are not able to attend, please feel free to send someone in your place. We cannot give last minute refunds due to the costs involved in promising a class on our calendar. Thank you for your understanding.
